He was born in 1960 in Los Angeles, California and received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from UCLA in 1983 and his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in 1986. He has been admitted to both State and Federal courts since 1987. Ernie began with the firm as a law clerk in 1984.
He has represented strictly plaintiffs in civil personal injury cases throughout his entire career and has successfully represented and tried to verdict a vast array of cases for clients involving personal injury, defective products, dangerous conditions of both public and private property as well as matters involving environmental law, construction accidents, automobile collisions and insurance bad faith. Ernie also counts among his specialties cases involving wrongful death. Ernie has obtained substantial recoveries against product manufacturers for dangerous machines and also against government agencies, such as various cities and Caltrans, for dangerous road conditions.

As a member of the Advisory Board of the Loyola Law School Trial Advocacy Center and as a sponsor of the David W. Burcham Ethics in Trial Advocacy Chairmanship at his alma mater, Ernie also mentors and instructs law students through Semester in Practice externships and also through the ABOTA Trial Fellowship Program in which new members of the legal community may develop their professional skills. Ernie serves on the Loyola Law School Board of Directors and has established in his father’s honor the Ernest Algorri Memorial Scholarship to provide a tuition-free legal education in perpetuity to eligible students and our Nation’s veterans. As a member of the Board of Directors for the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), Ernie also works hard at the State level to ensure that working people and those in need of justice retain access to the courthouse. Ernie’s efforts for the CAOC earned him the 2016 President’s Award of Merit. In his off hours, Ernie is active in the motorsports and off-road communities and is a licensed National Hot Rod Association drag racer and competes in sanctioned national and regional events.
